Hi, I’m Courtney.
As a recovering perfectionist myself, I know what its like to walk through life as a ‘human doing’ rather than a human being. I nearly mastered looking put together on the outside, but internally I wondered if I would ever feel “enough.” My own journey of finding authenticity and comfort within myself has given me a unique perspective and allows me to meet my clients in the middle of their “messy.” I have made it my mission to help other girls and women who feel the pressure to hide their pain and self-doubt behind perfectionism. My goal as a therapist is to create a non-judgmental space where we can safely explore all parts of you, while also providing practical tools to help manage the feelings of shame, worthlessness, and overwhelm.
I specialize in trauma-informed and evidenced based approaches with teens and their parents. My career started in intensive treatment, focusing on teens and adults with mood disorders, trauma/PTSD, and complex family systems. Now, most clients who come to work with me identify as high-achieving perfectionists struggling to manage some piece of their identity - whether school, career, parenthood, spirituality, or otherwise.
My greatest asset in the therapy room is my registered therapy dog, Major. He loves getting to work with clients on emotion regulation, self-esteem, and social connection. He is also open to bribes - he’ll really love you back if you give him a treat or a belly rub in session!
